Up-to-date: Microsoft, this year’s official technology partner of the Song Contest, released its own ESC app for Android and iOS at the end of April. This is now being updated shortly before the final phase of the competition: In addition to background information on the participants, users can now also use the voting function. You can vote for your personal favorite in the two semifinals and the grand finals on Saturday using the app.

The right sound

The Vienna Symphonic Library is working hard to ensure that all participants in the live shows of the Song Contest are given a coherent sound. For some of the applicants it provides the symphonic sounds, since the ESC has not had a live orchestra since 1999. The Viennese company also contributes the software that is used in the ORF’s music mix. Several computers in the OB vans were equipped with the „Vienna Suite”.

Praying together

Bridge-building prayer: believers of all stripes can request divine support next to the Wiener Stadthalle as a song contest venue. In the parish of Christkönig Neuffunghaus an invitation to interreligious dialogue is held on the Friday before the finale. A Catholic priest, an Evangelical Methodist clergyman and representatives of Islam and Buddhism perform a candle ritual, intercessions and songs, and present a short story that expresses the building of bridges between believers of different traditions. „We want to thank God that he is at work,” says the multilingual leaflet.
